Electrical Installation Wiki - General disclaimer

The Electrical Installation Wiki is an online open-content collaborative encyclopedia, that is, a voluntary association of individuals and groups working to develop a common resource of human knowledge. The structure of the project allows anyone with an Internet connection to alter its content.

Please be advised that nothing found here has necessarily been reviewed by people with the expertise required to provide you with complete, accurate or reliable information. That is not to say that you will not find valuable and accurate information in the Electrical Installation Wiki; most of the time you will. However, the Electrical Installation Wiki cannot guarantee the validity of the information found here. The content of any given article may recently have been changed, vandalized or altered by someone whose opinion does not correspond with the state of knowledge in the relevant fields

Electrical Installation Wiki - 5 pillars

The fundamental principles by which Electrical Installation Wiki (also called Wiki for simplification) operates have been summarized in the form of five "pillars":

1. Electrical Installation Wiki is an encyclopaedia of design use in the area of electrical distribution installation according to IEC international standards.

Content should be verifiable with citations to reliable sources. Our editors' personal experiences, interpretations, or opinions do not belong here. Electrical Installation Wiki is not a soapbox, an advertising platform, a vanity press, an experiment in anarchy or democracy, an indiscriminate collection of information, or a web directory. It is not a dictionary, newspaper, or a collection of source documents.

2. Electrical Installation Wiki has a neutral point of view,

which means we strive for articles that advocate no single point of view. Sometimes this requires representing multiple points of view, presenting each point of view accurately, providing context for any given point of view, and not presenting any point of view as "the truth" or "the best view". That means citing verifiable, authoritative sources whenever possible, especially on controversial topics. When a conflict arises regarding neutrality, hammer out details on the talk page, and follow dispute resolution.

The Wiki’s content presentation is governed by three principal core policies: neutral point of view, verifiability, and no original research.

  • Neutral point of view
  • Verifiability – Material challenged or likely to be challenged, and all quotations, must be attributed to a reliable, published source.
  • No original research –. Articles may not contain any new analysis or synthesis of published material that serves to advance a position not clearly advanced by the sources.

These policies determine the type and quality of material that is acceptable in the Wiki articles

3. Electrical Installation Wiki is free content that anyone can edit and distribute.

Respect copyright laws. Since all your contributions are freely licensed to the public, no editor owns any article; all of your contributions can and will be mercilessly edited and redistributed.
One of the most important aspects of the Wiki is that its text (not media; see below) may be freely redistributed, reused and built upon by anyone, under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-Sharealike 3.0 Unported License (CC-BY-SA).

Contributors agree to release their original content under this license when they submit it, and material from public domain sources or other compatibly-licensed sources may also be used in accordance with the copyright policy, provided correct attribution is given

4. Electrical Installation Wikins should interact in a respectful and civil manner:

Respect and be polite to your fellow Electrical Installation Wikins, even when you disagree. Apply Wiki etiquette, and avoid personal attacks. Find consensus, avoid edit wars, follow the three-revert rule, and remember that articles on the Wiki are to work on and discuss. Act in good faith, never disrupt Wiki to illustrate a point, and assume good faith on the part of others. Be open and welcoming.

5.Electrical Installation Wiki does not have firm rules besides the five general principles presented here.

Be bold in updating articles and do not worry about making mistakes. Your efforts do not need to be perfect; because prior versions are saved by default, no damage you might do is irreparable
